Is There a Need for Critical Minerals in the Automotive Sector?

China is the predominant concern right that they control access to rare earths in particular but people kind of lump it in with a lot of what they consider critical minerals then I find that to be an interesting dynamic where you've got this or almost a nationalistic approach where we need to have some of these resources in our own backyard. EU US Australia Canada all have their critical minerals list but more or less there's somewhere between 25 and 35 commodities like for lithium ion batteries.
