The Effects of Expertise on Effective Leadership

Research by Amanda Goodall and colleagues originally showed this is I think that sometimes we discount content expertise when we think about leadership. And if you are leading the widget factory and you don't know anything about widgets, that can be problematic. But you also, if you've had some experience, you know what experts to call on, right, to supplement your own expertise. That's such a fascinating mechanism for explaining the effects of expertise on effective leadership.
