Do Not Fear to Take Mary Your Wife
The angel Gabriel appears to Mary and invites her to become the mother of the Savior as you said. And then we don't have that that version of the story in Luke's got that we find a loose gospel. But we have Joseph's version of the account which he would have shared with Mary and Mary would have told Luke and Matthew about it. So I mean, you could see and right after Mary comes back, she's found to be with child and Joseph decides to put her away quietly because he was a just man.
