Julie: I think that it's because of our own anxiety with the concept of improv that we want to cloak ourselves in an evidence-based practice some manual. Sometimes focusing on what we can do to help other people can be a way of avoiding what's painful in ourselves and so training is wonderful but not going to replace you making the time and space to be with your own feelings, she says. Julie: It's really important in both for building confidence and for having the tools.
