The Longest Day in the Life of a Man

1915 expedition set up camp on the ice 200 yards away from the wreck of their beloved endurance. They try to signal for help, but their position is too remote. Wind speed reaches 70 miles an hour, almost blowing the hatches off. The men have to crawl on their hands and knees to feed them or risk being blown away. Men take the weak and immature huskies away from the camp and shoot them miserably. Hurley is determined to rescue his glass photographic plates which are sealed tight in waterproof cases. To him they are more valuable than any treasure that Shackleton has left behind.
