Methusela: When he was a little thinner as a starving monk, he did not understand any of all this. And when he looked back later in life, he said strikingly, as a monk, he had not been worshiping the right God. MARTIN LUTHER: Not knowing God is a kind and loving father, a God who brings us close to his good, Luther found he could not love God.
