Is it more valuable to have people be richer and healthier, or better informed about the world as a whole? Is there really ways of changing that meaningfully that particularly bear on how humanity goes in in the long time future? It's not that i think it's necessarily washed out. I just like the punitive connection with the long term impact is so weak as to be meaningless.
