Debbie Altschuler: I think that there's a lot put culturally on mothers in our society like you were saying before, Deb. But what I was thinking about is the work of Kwame Scruggs who works with young African-American men and they use myth and drumming and storytelling and sharing. And it is very nurturing. But I wouldn't call it mothering. It's a different, has a different feeling tone, a different quality of nurturance that brings young men into themselves and also sort of can help them launch in the world.
