Conversion Is Not Reproducible
Conversion is a radical transformation of spirit where we give up our metaphysical desire. In doing so, renounce violence and learn to love others in this deeply personal individual transformation. Despite its Christian connotations, conversion is not an experience reserved for the religious. Post-conversion, or so Gerard makes it seem, we can continue to engage deeply with society without being trapped in the pernicious gains of metaphysical desire.
