The Role of Pheromones in Mammalian Survival
The rabbit mammary pheromone was identified by Benoit Charles and Gerard Courot. It's a small aldehyde, which females produce in their milk. They were able to show that by synthesising with this one little aldehyde. This is essential for these pups to be able to feed very efficiently off their mother. But it actually gets a little bit more complicated because the actual pheromones actually induces the pups to learn.
