A new phenomenon of consumer goods that are theoretically for sale, but you can almost never buy. This isn't a temporary supply chain issue caused by an unforeseen global pandemic. What's more is that these items don't have to adhere to price controls in the same way as regular consumer goods do. There is nothing stopping these companies from charging the demanded market price for these products and pocketing an extra 20 thousand dollars per watch or ten thousand dollars handbag.
