The History of the Mazaretic Text
The mazaretic text was not put together and finalized by these editors until really the middle ages. So there ware more than a thousand years of history of composition, circulation, editing and anges before that. And so it's not a simple, straightforward situation where you can just read a book like leviticus and know that what you're reading is exactly as it was originally composed. It's a much more plcated history than that.
