The Root of Language Is Sound
Two thirds of the book is our sonic selves. I make the biggest pitch for this in the final chapter, kind of a call to action. Our sonic choices affect who we are and the world we live in. A rhythm is tremendously important for language as well as for music. As humans, we have been communicating through sound for hundreds of thousands of years. Other creatures have evolved to be incredibly receptive to sound vision.
