The Importance of Polyphony in Church
I'm skeptical of polyphony in church. I'm more of a fan of monophony meaning plain chant, raguarian chant which is much more conducive to worship. It focuses the mind and it takes it actually takes personality out of it when the gospel is chanted rather than read. That's not a way to show off your singing skills if you're a priest. You've just got the word of God coming to you in this beautiful way that speaks directly into your soul. And so I would just be careful of it especially with percussion. It can rile you up and take your mind and soul off the worship of God as it ought to be done properly and reverent
