If allowing tostig to recruit some men and grab a few ships was what he needed to take his dour nonsense elsewhere, well that was a price baldwin would happily pay. But we don't have a single record for tostig's movements. Instead, we have a variety of records that indicate various places he's claimed to have gone in trying to deal with this mess.
