Yolanda asked a makeup artist to round out Gigi's eye makeup so she didn't look Chinese. By Yolanda's literal second appearance on Real Housewives, she was already becoming known as a mother who was pretty toxic when it came to what her daughter ate and also racist. In another offensive scene in the same season, Yolanda said, the volleyball player's bodies are big and bulky and they eat like men. Now that's where we're alert, this will come back to bite Yolanda as it absolutely should. It's not a great start, but tellingly, these comments don't really affect Yolandan's time on the show.
