The man stood maybe six inches shoulder to shoulder with me, watching my son play about eight feet in front of me under the tree. He still had one hand in his wind breaker pocket and the other one holding on to the leash of the dog. This went on for several minutes. I was afraid. I didn't know what to do. Any other time, some one else would have walked by, but not on this day. So i reached into my stroller and pulled out pepper spray. It never occurred to me that it might be used for self defence in this neighborhood. And i made sure that the man saw what i had in my hand. But he looked at the pepper spray
