The King and his wife Marianne Twanette were put in prison. By this stage people called the Jacobins were in charge led by a man called Robespierre. They thought that they needed to get rid of all the nobles if they were to protect the revolution. So they started to kill them using a special French machine called the guillotine. First they chopped off the nobles heads. After a while they chopping off the King's head. Then the head of Marianne Twenet. Eventually they were just killing people who those in charge didn't like. Enough was enough. People realised they needed to stop the killing so they did one last killing. That's just him right
