Getting the Devil's Shoes
Kidda followed the husband home from a distance she didn't want to be seen. The shoes had an ironic curse, right? Like, she wasn't going to put them on and never stop walking or suddenly care about her physical appearance in some weird way. But by the time she made it into town, she was back in her old shoes that probably wouldn't make her walk for a thousand years straight. She would be able to get something for them from the local merchant. Then it was his problem.
