In patients with suspected GCA, we should do a temporal artery biopsy over an ultrasound for the diagnosis. The Euler guidelines are to do an imaging study of the cranial arteries and then also the axillary arteries in order to try to make the diagnosis. Over time you start losing some of those classic features such as lesions evolving into this healing stage where more fibrosis is present.
