Ibern-Kaldun's Theory of Political Cycles

Ibern-Kaldun's project as a historian was to chronicle and explain the political environment in which he moved. His theory of solidarity, or Asabia, has obvious relevance for the rise and fall of successive powers in Andalusia and North Africa. The theory is explicitly based on close observation of history, but also meant to be universal in its applicability; even to have predictive power.
