The Battle of Shavenhoot
American soldiers found themselves completely on their own, as even the Sherman's found going into the woods way too hard. They had not seen a single German for two days and found themselves right outside the village of Zwifal,. So by the third day, they're overlooking the town of Shavenhoot, who I'm sure I am pronouncing terribly wrong. Despite the fact, uh, they didn't know that there was Americans in the woods, and the war was raging all around them. People were just going about their daily lives out of care in the world.
