Giovanni was writing this in ten sixties and seventies, basically. I think the first published edition is 15 70. Yet, i believe there haven't been that many books about architecture before this. And whic na of govanni, experience of a reading famous books of architectural theory is that they are not necessarily quite what people say they are.
