Do You Think Mars Has a Liquid Core?
There's lots of satellites orbiting mars looking for magnetic fields, and they don't have one. But if you look at some of the rocks on mars, you can see fossil evidence for a magnetic field. That means that we know that mars used to have a magnetic field. So then where is this idea that it could be liquedend? I mean, it seems pretty reasonable for it to be solid and likely, but one makes us think it couldn't have a liquid core. And so one question is, like, maybe we think it has a solid core, but let's go check.
