The Rule of 72: How to Calculate When Growth Will Double

Rule 72 is the name of Alan Iber's business design agency. It means that if you're trying to figure out when a certain growth will double, you just need to divide this with 72. For example, let's say you have invested in stock market and you know that it's growing on average 7% a year. You divide 72 with seven and you know in 10 years, 7% growth will double or maybe let's say your company is growing at 35%. This means that it will double in just two years.
