A lot of the poems in this book are also called Echrastic Poems. And those are poems that are written upon the encounter with a piece of visual art. There's a piece about Merritt Oppenheim's Fertie Cup which was a commission from MoMA. In many ways it's a response to a, I mean, someone asked me to write on it. So I gave you a filthy poem because you asked me and then started making my own.
