The Discourse on Cults in Germany
In the 1990s here a huge debate on cults and that also was, and this debate was also being debated in a parliamentary commission of inquiry. Back then basically Scientology and others who came new and who were and still are competitors with the established churches. For them these are not only competitors, they are dangerous, you know, dangerous to young people because they suck them into their congregations,. They are dangerous for the secular state and so on. And they're still quite successful in using this label in order to pacify their competitors.
