Diving down five kilometers is like another world when we go vertically down. You're in a hollow metal ball, because that's got to protect you from the pressure where you're go and i love the bit of the start the dive. Everything down there is shaped by completely different processes to what we're familiar with on land. Down in the deep ocean, we have organic detritus, what we call marine snow,. raining down all the time and creating soft plains of mud. But then there's volcanic activity, but the lava quenches instantly when it hits cold sea water.
