The Sufi View of Satan as a Paradigm of Love
Whether Satan was actually an angel or a jinn who God elevated to the angelic assembly is a matter of debate along amongst a lot of Islamic scholars. The Sufis have a slightly different perspective on this and see Satan as a paradigm of love. So despite the traditional interpretation of Satan's fault and grace as an excessive act of pride against God, the Sufis seed is an act of self sacrifice for God's love.
