Deism and Presbyterianism - Who Felt Particularly Threatened by the Deists?

Deism is very much men who see themselves as members of the laity. And so they often publish books called things like or write treatises, called the religion of a layman. This in turn means that the priests who they are as it were willfully ignoring feel threatened. The Presbyterians regarded Deism as especially challenging to those honourable principles of their religion.
