Latworth's the Land Grab
In the 1860s, Latworth is a young man who moves to the Scottish borders. He picks up on this extraordinary controversy between Sedgwick and Murchison. The rocks where he is are the same sort of rocks that they're arguing over. So he thinks to himself, maybe under my feet I could solve this problem. It takes forever - 20 years before British Geological Survey will accept his findings. And another 60 years before International Stereography Group accepts what he's found.
