The Cultural Politics of Trash Infrastructure

In chapter two of your book, you talk about the cultural politics of trash infrastructure. This is a kind of bridging of a kind of cultural politics of labor with what I call a sort of materialist new materialist reading of infrastructure. And that gets us to thinking much more about the materiality of infrastructure and how labor intersects with garbage in this realm. The burdens of infrastructure increasingly get devolved onto people where there actually is less physical infrastructure - steel plates, etc.
