Is this something that... Is this just a product of human nature that we have to go through? What else comes to mind here is the work of René Girard, who talks about mimetic crises. So are we just going into one of these types of events where all of the deception and lying has to culminate in some release? And I imagine war is just the ultimate form of that release.
