The mass of curiosity was actually worked out by denis lindley in the 19 fifties. So it is exactly the same kind of curiosity that we are scientists use all the time whenever we design an experiment. It's basically configuring, actively configuring in some process to generate something that can be sensed or measured which affords greatest amount of information.
