The Importance of Silence in Movies
The contrast or the juxtaposition of silence and noise in this movie is visual. There's no one in a room, you know, some of the time when we're looking at it,. That visual silence that's then broken up by whatever the noise of the action is that draws our attention. Nearly all of this movie takes place inside that house where the rooms are stripped down bare. They're these huge empty spaces.
