The Legacy of the Olin Foundation
I'm curious what Olin staff, so this foundation, what their own grant makers look like. And also maybe what their relationship with grantees themselves were that enabled them to take this more spread betting approach when previously some of the predecessors didn't. So I'll just take the case of Olin. Mike Joyce had been at a previous foundation, was involved in these sort of neoconservative 1970s networks,. He knew Irving Crystal, who was known as sort of the godfather of neo-conservatism.
