The Supreme Court's Decision in Jacobson v. Massachusetts
The Supreme Court disagreed with Jacobson's argument. They said states can require individuals to be vaccinated. But they made an exception in certain cases, when the health of an individual could be compromised by the shot. Because of Jacobson's history of adverse effects after previous vaccinations, he didn't have to be vaccinated but did have to pay a fine. The government used the same argument that it used against Jacobson to make one of the darkest, most infamous decisions in US history.
