The Amyloid Cascade Hypothesis and Alzheimer's Disease
Patients taking the anti-amyloid drug, Lecanamab, showed 27% less decline in their cognitive health than patients taking a placebo did. The hope is that when given to people with early stage Alzheimer's disease, it will slow the progression by extending the milder stages of the disease. Some are less hopeful that the results will show any meaningful difference.
