The Different Types of Tests

The reverse type is when you're trying to confirm your findings. So this time you take the patient's serum, and remember, listen to the difference between serum and plasma. So serum has the antibodies, but no red blood cells in there. And so that means that their red blood cells should not have the antigen on them. Otherwise, intuitively, you know now that the patient would be reacting to themselves.
