HBO Saying No to Original Programming
In retrospect, HBO turned down all of that cash. In a way, HBO saying no got Netflix into original programming. They did end up putting Sopranos on linear networks, but it was their own linear networks. But they didn't figure this out until much later than we thought they would figured it out.
