Stalinism Is Not Merely the Spectacle of Appearances for the Invisible Case
Stalinism is not simply that the paradox is that at the same time i don't know of a regime more sensitive to appearances than Stalinism. In Stalinism if somebody were to tell publicly something bad about Stalin it would be total catastrophe and this is i think the key to Stalinism let's call it symbolic economy for example. North Korea developed up to point of madness when I visited them recently unfortunately only they took me to the southern Korean demilitarized zone which you have almost a theater setting.
