Paul bloom's new book is about the role of suffering in human experience. He says he spent a lot of time reading and thinking about these issues. Bloom: I'd always go on trips and leave all my work behind, because i'm here to have fun. But weirdly, reading and thinking was my fun in a sort of odd way.
