The Museum of Modernism in Japan
The 19 22 exhibition was the starting point for this week's show. The museum is one of the first to hang artists from different parts of the world next to each other. i think for japan, all those things that went into that modernist moment are still there. And although itsome like aktagawa, in obvious ways, is a tragic figure for taking his own life, he is also proof for japanese now that a western culture could be mastered as it was. Even amund gore, who appeared to be in permanent motion in the 19 twenties, had to lay his head down eventually.
