We don't want to burden the user by making them understand or having them forcing them to use the tool in a certain way. So it's mostly how the tool functions, but there is some things that kind of manifest into the UI,. Because we know every column, we can show you a list of columns that you can select which columns are business keys.

Summary
Architectural decisions are all based on certain constraints and a desire to optimize for different outcomes. In data systems one of the core architectural exercises is data modeling, which can have significant impacts on what is and is not possible for downstream use cases. By incorporating column-level lineage in the data modeling process it encourages a more robust and well-informed design.
