Is There a Model of Adoption?

The New Aaron's international translation of the Gospels includes a passage that seems to be suggestive of adoption. Can you explain that translation? Sure, I mean, that's me picking up Sauschis's language just to be in terms of her definition of metaphor. So we all kind of know what we're talking about. And then what I think that points us to is all of the related terms in the surrounding context.
