Hannibal and the Carthaginians
Hannibal managed to sustain an army strength of around 50,000 but estimates of a Roman army number are thought to have been in excess of 85,000. What happened at Canny in the year 216 BCE would go down as the single most deadliest day in the history of European lands. Once again Hannibal demonstrated that he was a master tactician equal to the threat of the Romans.
