The Last Supper a Passover Meal?

The synoptic gospels indicate that the meal that Jesus shared with his disciples on the night before his arrest was a Passover meal. It is suggested that the fourth gospel wanting to emphasize the identification of Jesus with the Passover sacrifice places the crucifixion a day earlier than the other gospels. At the time the Passover lambs were being sacrificed to the temple. Attempts to harmonize the gospel accounts include suggestions that the Last Supper may have been some other kind of fellowship meal, maybe eaten in anticipation of the Passover.
