Not all catfishing is innocent. Someone may choose to catfish another person due to their own insecurities such as not feeling attractive enough or good enough at something in their lives. Another reason that someone might catfish is to explore their sexuality. Some people use catfishing as a means of revenge on another person, particularly if they are being targeted for some other reason.
