How Did Homo Sapiens Survive?
We are evolutionarily designed to feel for and with one another. Even a baby's mirror neurons will have many of the same reactions as though they themselves were scalded. It means if you are messing with one human being, you are almost always messing with more. We survived because we have this ability to collaborate and communicate on a level not seen by any other species in our history. And it's partly because of that empathic connection we can make with one another that says, I feel with you and I don't want that to happen to me.
