The Importance of Respect in Martial Arts
I lived in Japan for about eight months and I really loved it there. And like you said, a very honorable and respectful people and culture. They use respect, they honor this confrontation as something which has physicality but also spirituality. So when you respect all those elements, you become part of them. Even though I was a foreigner, I have a lot of what they call bushel, which is the code of honor and the code of living of the samurai. And from that point on, it was crazy because they see me as one of their own. The guys want to just touch their kids' heads or just they treat me like almost a God,. It was a very special feeling
